Yatsenyuk advocates the elimination of the tax police and setting up the demilitarized Financial Investigation Service
OREANDA-NEWS. January 25, 2016. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk urges to abolish the tax police and establish a demilitarized State Financial Investigation Service. He announced at a meeting dedicated to anti-corruption investigations.
The Prime Minister noted that the draft law on the establishment of the financial investigation service had been drafted. Under this bill, formation of the service and the recruitment of new investigators shall be conducted following similar principles used in the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Moreover, Arseniy Yatsenyuk also appealed to the participants of the meeting "to engage in joint activity to eradicate corruption in the State Fiscal Service".
He stressed that the task for the SFS Chairman Roman Nasirov is "a reform of the State Fiscal Service both in quantity and in quality": "While for all of us – to ensure the real fight against abuse primarily in the customs and among tax inspectors".
