ACER call for Board of Appeal members
OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2016. The Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) is launching a call for members and alternates for the next term of its Board of Appeal. The members and alternates of the Board of Appeal are selected and proposed by the Commission and formally appointed by the ACER Administrative Board.
ACER was established to assist the national energy regulators in coordinating their actions and to ensure a smooth functioning of the internal energy market. ACER is independent from the Commission, national governments, and energy companies.
The Board of Appeal comprises six members and six alternates. It is selected from current or former senior staff from the national regulatory authorities, competition authorities or other national or EU institutions with relevant experience in the energy sector.
The term of office of the members and alternates of the current Board of Appeal started on 22 September 2011 for a five year mandate which comes to an end on 22 September 2016. The first term is renewable.
Applications, preferably in English, should be sent by email to ENER-BOA-ACER@ec.europa.eu.
Applications must be sent by 11 March 2016.
