OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2016. Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine/ Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko, while on a working trip to Odessa region, held a teleconference dedicated to the problems of passing the heating period. With the adoption of the resolution stipulating for the recalculation of cost of providing heating services depending on the outside air temperature, the Ukrainian citizens will be able to economize about 25% of the funds, he stressed.

"To ensure people pay for what they actually consume. For this purpose there have been designed a specific understandable methodology, which all municipal services already obtained", stressed the Vice Prime Minister.

The top official noted that the heads of state administrations are personally responsible for the flawless passing of the heating season in the areas and informing the coordination centre about the situation with the functioning of all heating, water supply and sanitation networks.

"You are answerable for the quality and quantity of those bills, which are received by our consumers", said Hennadii Zubko.

"In 2015, district heating providers saved on gas consumption 2 billion cubic meters as compared to last year," informed the official.

Hennadii Zubko also noted that in 2015 there had been installed 50% of [the planned amount – ed.] heating and gas meters in buildings. "In 2016 we should finalize the process of instalment of house gas meters, and reach the showings of 75-78% from the amount of installed heating meters", he added.

The Vice Prime Minister accentuated at that it is vital to explain to the people the need to save gas and if possible to replace it with other kinds of fuel and energy.

It should be noted that calculation of a monthly payment for the use of centralized heating should take into account changes in outside temperature regimes under the decision on amendments to the Resolution No. 630 adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
