OREANDA-NEWS. Russian dealers of Skoda in 2015 sold 55 thousand cars - less by 35% than the year before. The share of the brand in the Russian market increased from 3.6% to 3.7%, informed the press service of Skoda Auto. The best-selling model of Skoda in Russia in the last year was compact liftback Rapid, the second place was occupied by model Octavia, and crossover Yeti closed the top-three of Russian best-selling brands.

Overall, the Czech automaker in 2015 increased sales worldwide by 1.8%, to 1 million 55,000 vehicles. According to the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", the share of Russian sales of Skoda exceeded 5% of the global volume. The best-selling model Skoda in global markets is still Octavia (432 300 units, + 11.1%), in the second place - Rapid (194, 300 units, - 12.2%), and Fabia closes the top-three of best-selling brands (192 400 units, + 19.8%).

Skoda has shown the consistent results in the Western European market, where it was sold 430,900 vehicles (+ 4.3%). In Eastern Europe, excluding Russia, the owners of Skoda models were 32700 customers (-5.8%). In 2015, Skoda had the growth in Central Europe, by selling 172,100 vehicles (+ 14.8%).

In China, which is for Skoda the world's largest market, the company's sales remained at the level of 2014 and they were 281,700 units (0.1%). Sales of the Czech brand in the past year were positive in such markets as Israel (17,800 units, 17.4%) and Turkey (22 200 units, + 58.4%). In India, Skoda sold 15,800 cars, which is more by 2% than in 2014 year.
