And the Survey Says: Everyone Wants You to Speak at Connections '16, Salesforce
OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2016. Each year, Connections brings together thousands of digital marketers from around the globe for three days of education, inspiration, networking and fun. Attendees represent companies of all shapes and sizes, and their industries range from financial services, education and non-profit to retail, communications, healthcare and more.
Throughout the annual event—as well as after—we conduct surveys to ensure presenters and their topics provide maximum value. Invariably, the results reveal that by far, the most popular and rewarding content is produced and delivered by marketers just like you, our customer. So why not share your insights in 2016?
The Keys to Great Presentations
The sessions that receive the highest reviews are those that illustrate real-world goals, challenges, tactics and solutions. They include detailed insights into the organization’s strategy, and tactical advice that attendees can use the moment they get back in the office.
While there are several different types of speaking opportunities, we’re always on the lookout for great presenters for our breakout sessions. The 40-minute discussions typically include about 25 minutes of presentation and 15 minutes of audience Q/A (though the best encourage dialogue throughout).
But don’t think we’re just looking for ‘big brands’ to present. Our surveys show that about one third of registrants are part of a marketing team of less than ten people, one third have 10-30 people, and one third have more than 30. Attendees are most often drawn to sessions that are relatable—meaning they want to engage with companies most similar to their own.
Submit Your Topics and Ideas
This year, Connections will be held on May 10-12 in Atlanta, GA (pre-register now). We’re expecting over 8,000 attendees, and would love your help in making it a great experience for each and every one.
So ask yourself a few questions: What digital marketing topic am I most passionate about? What expertise can I share with my peers? What are some of my team’s big wins, and what can others learn from them?
Perhaps you can provide insights into cross-channel personalization, or others would benefit from learning about your data strategy. Maybe you’re proud of your email, digital advertising, mobile, or social marketing success. Or perhaps you’d like to share your view on B2B marketing trends, or lead in an industry-specific discussion for your peers. The possibilities are limitless.
So don’t be shy—nominate yourself as a presenter and tell us what you’d like to cover. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be reviewing submissions to identify those we believe our customers would find most valuable. And don’t worry. If you are selected, our team will work with you each step of the way to help make your presentation a resounding success!
