It is possible to watch the presentation in real time here: http://live.worldbank.org/world-development-report-2016

The presentation will be given tomorrow, on Thursday 14 January from 17:30 to 19:00 Estonian time.

At their meeting in Washington in May 2014 World Bank president Jim Yong Kim made the proposal to President Toomas Hendrik Ilves that the Estonian head of state take up the post of co-director of the steering group on the World Development Report. The World Bank's report highlights Estonia as a positive example of how various technical solutions can be the foundation of democracy and transparency and support economic development.

The World Bank regularly publishes policy-shaping documents, the most influential of which is the annual 'World Development Report', which steers development policy thinking and makes recommendations in a number of areas.

The main target groups of the report are policy-makers and government officials in emerging countries, international organisations and development aid agencies as well as representatives of the private sector, academic circles and civil society organisations.
