Excessive nuclear material moved out from Iran in frames of implementation of provisions of UN Security Council’s resolution 2231
OREANDA-NEWS. The marking event took place on December 28, 2015. It was in the framework of preparations, which are underway now, to realize the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Actions for settling the situation around the Iranian nuclear program adopted in Vienna on July 14, 2015 and approved by UN Security Council’s resolution 2231. ROSATOM moved out all excessive nuclear material, as per the resolution, from Iran. Thus, the key and most labor intensive condition of the Plan of Actions was fulfilled to bring the process of preparation for implementation of UNSC’s resolution 2231 to the home straight.
This became possible as a result of hard and thorough work of the recent months.
ROSATOM expresses assurance that trust and expertise accumulated during this work will serve development of the international cooperation in the peaceful uses of atomic energy.
