OREANDA-NEWS. The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) revised its 2016 NGL production outlook lower as weaker energy prices are poised to curb oil and gas production.

US NGL production from gas processing is forecast to stand at 3.46mn b/d in 2016, down from last month's 3.55mn b/d forecast, according to the EIA's monthly Short Term Energy Outlook.

US NGL consumption is expected to total 2.46mn b/d this year, up 10,000 b/d from 2015, as additional consumption of ethane from petrochemical crackers offsets a decline in first quarter heating demand for propane, according to the agency.

The EIA estimates the US exported 840,000 b/d of LPG in 2015 and projects that will grow to 1.3mn b/d in 2017 as additional export terminal capacity comes online.
