OREANDA-NEWS. AvtoVAZ has completed the tests of the first prototype of electric car LADA Vesta EV, which is equipped with an electric motor 60 kW (about 82 hp) and a battery of Li-ion. With such electric motor Vesta accelerates to "hundreds" for 15.5 seconds and its top speed is 150 km/h. To charge the electric car from the home network, you will need nine hours, at a special station - about 1.3 hours. On the one single charge you can travel 150 kilometers, writes the portal "Kolesa.ru".

Recall that AvtoVAZ has already electric car – estate car El Lada, built on the basis of the first LADA Kalina. By comparison, Vesta EV received "a new level of comfort and safety of the driver and passengers." For example, by creating a sedan it was used breaker, which is allowing in the case of repair or accident to disconnect the car. In addition, the design of the engine compartment of LADA Vesta EV is different from what exists in the electric car Kalina, and rechargeable traction batteries are located under the bonnet and under the rear seat.

Representatives of AvtoVAZ also noted that Vesta EV has a great export potential. «LADA Vesta EV will be a strong competitor in the unique price range up to 40 thousand dollars. Traditionally electric cars are interesting for municipal authorities and the Government of the Russian Federation. But we also feel that Vesta EV has great export potential due to more attractive price for the same consumer properties as the competitors have. In 2016 we will produce several electric vehicles for testing. Production of Vesta EV will be organized in case of the order from the Marketing Service: still the future of electric vehicles in Russia depends on the demand, which dictates also a well-developed network of charging stations", - said the head of the innovative projects of Engineering Service of AVTOVAZ, Constantine Kotliarov.
