airBaltic - Demand Growing in the Baltics
OREANDA-NEWS. In the last quarter of 2015, the Latvian airline airBaltic has achieved 33% average increase of bookings in Estonia and Lithuania compared to the same period a year earlier. In Estonia, the demand for airBaltic tickets grew +42%, while in Lithuania it was up +23%, as the carrier announced new routes and improved connectivity in both markets with major European hubs.
Wolfgang Reuss, SVP of Network Management of airBaltic: "airBaltic Horizon 2021 aims at operating 11 direct routes out of Vilnius and Tallinn in the next five years. We offer the best connectivity into and out of Estonia and Lithuania, as airBaltic serves a combination of direct flights and convenient transfers via our main hub in Riga to Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East and the CIS".
In December 2015, airBaltic also announced a new Vilnius - Tallinn service to be operated 10 times a week, from Monday - Friday, twice a day. Passengers will board a Bombardier Q400 NextGen aircraft for a flight that will last 1 hour and 20 minutes. One-way ticket prices will start at 79 EUR, including airport fees and transaction costs.
