Bank of Russia to Issue New Commemorative Coins
OREANDA-NEWS. The Bank of Russia issues into circulation a silver coin to commemorate the 150 anniversary of the Kalmyk capital of Elista. The reverse of the coin bears a relief image of the Elista emblem, and the Elista-located Syakyusn Syume khurul, Palace of chess and fountain Three lotuses.
Under the emblem there is an inscription 'Основан в 1865 году' ('Founded in 1865'). The mintage of the three-ruble coin is 3,000 pcs.
The Bank of Russia also issues into circulation three-ruble silver coins dedicated to the Symbols of Russia - Kizhi, the Kolomna Kremlin, Mamayev Kurgan, the Lake Baikal, Peterhof, the Pskov Kremlin, Rostov Kremlin and the Holy Trinity - St. Sergius Lavra. The regular coins bear a relief image and will be minted by 4,500 pcs each. The special coins have coloured image, the mintage is 500 pcs for each type.
The same day, the Bank of Russia issues a 25-ruble silver coin 'Vysoko-Petrovsky Monastery of Moscow' under the series of Architectural Masterpieces of Russia. The coin shows the ensemble of the Vysoko-Petrovsky Monastery and the ark against a background of Moscow buildings and churches. The mintage is 1,000 pcs.
Silver coins 'The Holy Grand Prince Vladimir Equal of the Apostles - the Baptist of Russia' is issued in three- and 25-ruble denomination. The three-ruble coin has a relief image of the Vladimir equal of the apostles cathedral in Tauric Chersonesos (St. Vladimir's cathedral in Sevastopol), and the 25-ruble coin features a detail of the monument 'Millennium of Russia' in Veliky Novgorod. The mintage of the three-ruble and 25-ruble coin is 10,000 pcs and 1,500 pcs respectively.
The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
In addition, the Bank of Russia communicates that the mintage of the three-ruble investment silver coin 'Saint George the Victorious' minted in 2015 is 100,000 pcs, and that of the 50-ruble investment golden coin 'Saint George the Victorious' minted in 2015 is 30,000 pcs.
