University of Tartu Library has new website
OREANDA-NEWS. As of 29 December, the UT Library website https://utlib.ut.ee/en has a new content and look.
According to the project manager of the new website, UT Web Administrator Valmar Evert and Head of UT Library Department of Information Systems Anneli Sepp, there were substantial and technical reasons for the changes: “The structure of the new website is based on the needs of external users for whom finding information has been made as easy and logical as possible.”
The aim of updating the website was to make the library’s home page clearer and highlight information that is important, first and foremost, to the readers and users of data bases.
The library’s website provides a convenient overview of the opening hours, data bases and collections, new books, events and exhibitions at the library, services, options to use the conference centre etc.
In addition to general user-friendliness and functionality, the search and content display options have been improved, the new website is also adjusted for browsing on a mobile phone.
In the course of the renewal, the UT Library website was transferred to the UT central web platform Drupal.
