OREANDA-NEWS. January 06, 2016. Owners of land beyond the Ribnita-Tiraspol highway, who due to Transnistrian restrictions could not work their land in 2015, will be paid money amounting to a total sum of almost eight million lei, earmarked from the government's reserve fund.

Land owners will receive 1,229.68 lei per hectare. In order to distribute the money, Dubasari district council carried out and approved a regulation, in cooperation with the State Chancellery and the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry.

Representatives of breakaway Trasnistrian authorities banned the access of land owners from working their land in 2015 as well. However, this year the sides agreed to pay landowners “direct payments” instead of the “nominative compensations” in 2014. The latter imply by definition some expenditures or costs for the works, including agricultural ones, which land owners had not incurred, and thus, they cannot submit confirming documents in this sense.

The land in the Security Zone, behind Ribnita-Tiraspol highway, has a surface of 6,494 hectares.
