OREANDA-NEWS. January 05, 2016. Millar Western Forest Products Ltd. and Northland Forest Products Ltd. confirmed the completion of a transaction. Millar Western sold its Boyle operations to Northland for \\$30,690,000 plus working capital, as the company said in the press release.

"Since purchasing and reopening this facility in 1994, Millar Western has appreciated the strong support of our employees, families, contractors and neighbours in Boyle. We are pleased the operation will be transferred to a well-run, family-owned organization," said Millar Western President and CEO Craig Armstrong.

"The Boyle operation is a good strategic fit for Northland Forest Products. We are very pleased to have this opportunity to grow our business and enhance our fibre security," said Northland President Howard Ewashko.

Millar Western is a private forest products company headquartered in Edmonton and operating a high-yield pulp mill in Whitecourt and dimension lumber mills in Whitecourt and Fox Creek, Alberta.

Northland Forest Products is a private forest products company headquartered and operating a dimension lumber mill near Fort McMurray, Alberta.
