OREANDA-NEWS. PJSC RusHydro (ticker symbol: MOEX, LSE: HYDR; OTCQX: RSHYY) together with RAO ES of the East have completed the first phase of construction of the 2nd stage of the Blagoveshenskaya TPP. The main technological equipment consisting of boiler unit, steam turbine and the generator have successfully passed complex testing of uninterrupted operations for 72-hours.

Sergei Tolstoguzov, General Director of RAO ES of the East, said: “We got renovated plant manned by trained professional staff in time, and the City of Blagoveshensk now is receiving electricity and heat from the new unit. Serious limitations for customers, that existed before the launch- will be gone”.

The new equipment increased the installed electric capacity of the plant by 120 MW and heat capacity by 188 Gcal/h, overall generating capacity of the plant increased to 1005 Gcal/h. The plant received capacity reserve and the regional capital got rid of the factor, limiting its development.

The 2nd stage of the Blagovesheskaya TPP is one of four priority investment projects in the Far East of Russia implemented by RusHydro together with its subsidiary, RAO ES of the East, in accordance with the President’s decree. The project budget is RUB 8.2 bn.

Commissioning of the 2nd stage of Blagovesheskaya TPP will enable large scale residential and commercial construction projects.
