OREANDA-NEWS. According to the "AUTOSTAT" survey, the cheapest cars are sold in Togliatti.  This city was in the first place in Russia among the 50 large (with a population over 350 thousand people) cities, where new cars have the lowest average price - 837.6 thousand Rubles. 

In second place there is Naberezhnye Chelny, where the average price of new cars is 974.9 thousand Rub.  The top-five of cities with prices before 1 million Rubles included also Cheboksary (983.9 thousand Rub.), Izhevsk (995.1 thousand Rub.) and Kirov (999.1 thousand Rub.). 

In addition, inexpensive cars are also chosen by residents of Magnitogorsk, Kursk, Ulyanovsk, Penza and Makhachkala.  These cities are in the top-10 of markets with the lowest average price. 

But the most expensive cars are bought by Vladivostok residents (1 731.9 thousand Rub.), Moscow (1700 thousand Rub.), Khabarovsk (1590.3 thousand Rub.), St. Petersburg (1449.6 thousand Rub.) and Sochi (1443.8 thousand. Rub.). 

"In the cities, where the population has low incomes, there are sold more inexpensive cars, with minimal configurations.  Although the overall market size can be substantial.  Therefore, the average prices are low.  Accordingly, in those cities where the share of the premium segment is higher, the average prices are higher", - says Sergey Udalov, the executive director of the agency" AUTOSTAT ".
