OREANDA-NEWS.  On December 30, 2015 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metals:

  • A silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (catalogue number 5111-0312) „The 150th Anniversary of the Foundation of Elista”;
  • Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles — „Kizhi” (catalogue number 5111-0313 and 5111-0314 for a special edition), „Kolomna Kremlin” (catalogue number 5111-0315 and 5111-0316 for a special edition), „Mamayev Kurgan” (catalogue number 5111-0317 and 5111-0318 for a special edition), „Lake Baikal” (catalogue number 5111-0319 and 5111-0320 for a special edition), „Peterhof” (catalogue number 5111-0321 and 5111-0322 for a special edition), „Pskov Kremlin” (catalogue number 5111-0323 and 5111-0324 for a special edition), „Rostov Kremlin” (catalogue number 5111-0325 and 5111-0326 for a special edition) and „The Holy Trinity — St. Sergius Lavra” (catalogue number 5111-0327 and 5111-0328 for a special edition) dedicated to the symbols of Russia;

Description of the coins of precious metals:

A silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 3000 pcs) „The 150th Anniversary of the Foundation of Elista” has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coin has a relief image of the emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down and a semicircular inscription under it „ÁÀÍÊ ÐÎÑÑÈÈ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin „ÒÐÈ ÐÓÁËß” (THREE ROUBLES) and the year — „2015”, between them there is an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Saint Petersburg mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin depicts a relief image of an emblem of Elista, Syakyusn Syume khurul, Palace of chess, fountain „Three lotuses” (Elista). There is an inscription under the emblem in two lines: „ÎÑÍÎÂÀÍ â 1865 ãîäó” (FOUNDED IN 1865).

Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 5000 pcs including 500 pcs in a special edition of each design) dedicated to the symbols of Russia have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
