Ukrainan PM: the budget envisages UAH 40 million to finance the activities of the Mejlis
OREANDA-NEWS. The draft State Budget for 2016 envisages UAH 40 million to finance the activities of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced in Parliament while consideration of the draft State Budget for next year at night of December 25.
The Prime Minister also stressed that there had been planned the funds for the purchase of television projects from the Crimean Tatar TV channel ATR.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk appealed to Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov: "I appreciate your position and the way you are fighting for the rights of the Crimean Tatar people. The Government and the state should fight in a similar way and help you."
Answering a question about 24 million hryvnias envisaged for a nationwide festival of patriotic songs "Be Free", the Prime Minister stressed that this point was included in the draft budget not by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, but by the State Administration of Affairs.
"It shall be taken from the State Budget of Ukraine and transferred to the disposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine", said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
