OREANDA-NEWS. December 25, 2015. The Meeting of Shareholders of JSC Rusatom Overseas chaired by Kirill Komarov, First Deputy CEO, Corporate and International Business Development of Rosatom State Corporation, unanimously approved changing the corporate name to JSC Rusatom Energy International. Shareholders of JSC Rusatom Energy International are Rosatom State Corporation (44.13% ownership) and JSC Atomenergoprom, company established to consolidate civil assets of the Russian nuclear sector (55.87% ownership).  The decision was taken within the framework of the ongoing restructuring company that started in May.

JSC Rusatom Energy International specializes in management of Rosatom international projects for construction and operation of nuclear power plants, acting as project companies’ shareholder. It is one of the most promising areas of development of the Russian nuclear energy industry. The functions of the company, inter alia, include attraction of financing, ensuring implementation of projects on budget and on time, further safe and efficient operation of nuclear power plants, as well as sale of electricity on foreign markets.

Currently, JSC Rusatom Energy International manages the projects in Finland (Hanhikivi-1 NPP) and in Turkey (Akkuyu NPP).

In May 2015, the Strategic Council of Rosatom State Corporation took the decision on restructuring JSC Rusatom Overseas as this company successfully achieved the goals set in 2011 when it was established. Today, 34 percent stake of the Finnish project company Fennovoima is owned by JSC Rusatom Energy International via subsidiary RAOS Voima Oy. Fennovoima builds one-unit Hanhikivi-1 nuclear power plant in the north of Finland. RAOS Project Oy, another subsidiary of JSC Rusatom Energy International, is the General Contractor of the Hanhikivi-1 NPP.
Rusatom Energy International is also a majority shareholder of JSC Akkuyu Nuclear that implements the project for construction and subsequent operation of the four-unit Akkuyu nuclear power plant in the Turkish province of Mersin. Nikita Konstantinov is the Director General of Rusatom Energy International. In the framework of restructuring, the task of promoting Rosatom’ integrated proposal abroad was fully transferred to JSC Rusatom Overseas (Inc.). The President of JSC Rusatom Overseas (Inc.) is Evgeny Pakermanov.
