OREANDA-NEWS. Professionals of PJSC TATNEFT have developed a method to manage operation of the horizontal well, divided into segments, and the device for the method implementation.

The patent for the invention "Method of separation and controlling reserves production drained by a horizontal well and a device for its realization" registered by the US Patent Office, the patent owner is PJSC TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin, authors: R.S. Khisamov, I.A. Nuriyev, G.S. Abdrakhmanov, V.A. Iktisanov, I.D. Vakhitov, I.G. Nizamov, N.Kh. Khamityanov, A.G. Korzhenevsky, S.L. Bagnyuk, V.P. Filippov, L.M. Mironova and A.A. Korzhenevsky.

The engineering development is intended for horizontal wells with different filtration properties of the rock forming structures with the possibility of selective action on the subject of  exploitation, dual crude oil production and, if necessary, shutting off watered sections of the borehole that allows involving marginal production areas into the active development and increasing crude oil recovery.

The method testing on well No. 41502G of NGDU "Jalilneft" demonstrated the possibility of reducing the product water cut by 70% and two-fold increase in the crude oil production rate.
