December 21, 2015.   In Istanbul, at the annual International transport and logistics exhibition "Logitrans" held a "round table" have been held dedicated for discussion of opportunities and prospects of development of the Trans-Caspian international transport route China - Turkey - Europe.

The event was attended by representatives of rail and maritime administrations, as well as major transport and logistics operators in Kazakhstan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Lithuania.

The participants of the "round table" familiar with the project and stressed the importance of TITR.

"Trans-Caspian route has a great transit potential. The main growth point of transit through this route are shipping from China to Turkey and the countries of the South Caucasus. For example, in 2014 the trade volume between China and Turkey amounted to 24 billion US Dollars, according to the agreements of Heads of State of Turkey and China during the visit of President Xi Jinping in Kazakhstan (2013), the volume of trade between the two countries in 2021 will amount to 100 billion US dollars. The total capacity of the Trans-Caspian transit route in the direction of China - the Caucasus - Turkey in 2020 is estimated at 300 thousand TEUs "- commented the managing director for logistics of JSC" NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" Arman Sultanov.

Director Department of Multimodal Transport of Transport Ministry  of Turkey S. Kushchi noted that "Turkey will do its utmost to contribute to the promotion of the Trans-Caspian route." In addition, it is noted that the port of Haydarpasa can become one of the transit points TITR.

Earlier, in July this year It was launched the first container train "Nomad Express" from China (Shihezi) - Kazakhstan (Dostyk-Aktau port) - Azerbaijan (Kishly). Distance length of 4726 km of the train crossed in just 6 days.

Operators of the project said that in late November, together with the Chinese side will be organized container service "Nomad Express" from China - Kazakhstan - Azerbaijan - Georgia - Turkey (Istanbul).

Overall, the event caused a great interest among Turkish partners and shippers.
