OREANDA-NEWS. Power management company Eaton and Pentair, a diversified global manufacturer, today announced a collaboration to integrate Pentair’s complete suite of industrial heat management solutions into Eaton’s Houston Experience Center. The installation will provide a hands-on learning opportunity within a true application environment, helping industry professionals gain a solid understanding of industrial heat management technology, maintenance and operation.

Focused on bringing heat management systems to the existing refinery application, the collaboration will feature engineered solutions designed to maintain process equipment at predetermined temperatures and within specific design parameters.

“Pentair is excited to collaborate with Eaton on this opportunity to provide practical experience and promote an enhanced understanding of the solutions that improve industrial safety, performance, and cost-effectiveness.” said Dan Caouette, product director, Pentair Industrial Heat Tracing Solutions.

Pentair is providing a complete system of products to the Experience Center, including power distribution, control and monitoring panels, heating cables, end terminations and accessories. The application shows Pentair’s heat management system fed from Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds series hazardous area panelboards.

“Eaton and Pentair are working together to create deeper training opportunities involving heat management products installed in oil and gas applications – a difficult task to achieve with active field operations,” said Allan Clark, Manager, Eaton Experience Centers. “Pentair will provide visitors to our Experience Center access to a solution-based application that dives into product operation, and helping them understand design, technology and installation practices within a safe learning environment.”

Experience Center visitors will learn about scalable solutions from single circuit controllers to multi-circuit systems using Pentair’s Raychem control systems. The application provides hands-on access to the control systems, demonstrating how the systems can be centralized and remotely monitored through software with advanced features such as alarming, configuration, data logging and trending and flexible reports.

The new installation is part of a broader upgrade of the Experience Center’s industrial application solutions. In January 2016, the facility will launch a simulated upstream drilling and production rig, pump jack demonstrations, hands-on lab, and power quality lab that expand hands-on capabilities and live product training opportunities from power generation to consumption.

The Experience Center’s 14,000 square foot simulated petrochemical refinery and power distribution grid features more than 8,000 products installed in applications from upstream to midstream to downstream. The interactive environment is divided into process and containment areas that allow visitors to experience a wide range of oil and gas training opportunities for hazardous and non-hazardous applications. The facility’s mock refinery gives visitors access live demonstrations of difficult-to-reach oil and gas applications both offshore and land-based.
