Bugulma Mechanical Plant Underwent the ASME Audit
The certification process at the BMZ took several years in several stages, starting from provision of the latest version of the original ASME Code of Practice through to designing and manufacturing the demo product. The plant’s professionals studied the new requirements of the standard, developed a large number of documents in two languages, including procedures for the basic production processes, detailed design and process flow documentation, demo product calculations, filling out specialized forms, which the personnel had never done before.
This certification, unlike the previous one, broadened the scope and now the ASME Code system applies to designing and manufacturing of pressure vessels, both within the enterprise premises and the machines’ assembly at the assembly sites of the customer.
The ASME Code Certificate will remain valid for three years, during which the BMZ will have the right to manufacture pressure vessels in accordance with the ASME Code of Practice requirements. The ASME certificate application will provide for high quality and safety of the manufactured heat exchangers, as well as tanks and vessels, which will give the plant the opportunity to position itself at the international market as a supplier of such equipment.
The activities of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers is aimed at improving the production efficiency and facilitating the international trade. Obtaining this certificate opens export barriers in more than 100 countries of the world which governments have endorsed and adopted the ASME code requirements, including the United States, Canada and major European countries.
