OREANDA-NEWS. AvtoVAZ will start the production of LADA XRAY on December 15th. Probably, as during the start of another new car, LADA Vesta, the manufacturer to the last (up to the declared in February of 2016 start of sales) will keep secret how much the car will cost. But concerning the technical characteristics of XRAY - much was revealed by experts, and some members of the media were even lucky enough and they got a "novelty" for a test drive. We selected 15 of the most interesting in our opinion facts and figures "about XRAY:

1. Length / width / height / base of the car - 4164/1764/1570/2592. Thus, XRAY is more than brother by platform Sandero by 5 cm in width and height and by 8 cm - in length.

2. Curb gross weight - is 1116/1650 kg. XRAY is harder than Renault Sandero (on the basis of which it was created) – by 50 kg, and its load capacity is more by 70 kg.

3. The trunk is small - 376 liters (but larger than Sandero has by 60 liters) with the rear seats folded - 1382 liters.

4. For the car there are 3 engines. Basic one of AvtoVAZ production is 1.6 liters (106 hp). In the middle configuration – there is engine from Renault, but also VAZ’s 1.6 liters (114 hp). Later, the company's management promises for a model another power train - 1.8-liters (122 hp).

5. XRAY, as well as other new generation cars LADA, will receive significant changes in engine tuning and exhaust system - as a result of which it will comply with the ecological standard Euro-6.

6. There are provided 2 transmissions for a vehicle - 5-speed manual and AMT.

7. The car accelerates to 100 km for 10.3 seconds.

8. The maximum speed – is 171 km / h

9. Average fuel consumption when driving in the city - 9.4 liters, in the country - 5.6 liters, in the combined cycle - 6.9 liters.

10. Rear suspension XRAY is different from that Sandero – AvtoVAZ’s hatchback has other fastening beams and wider track (by 34mm).

11. Clearance – is 195 mm. "It has very short front and rear overhangs”, - said the project director Oleg Grunenkov - all this allows you to operate confidently the car and on the roads and in confined spaces, and in the presence of high curbs, parapets snow, ruts, etc..." In addition, the alloy wheels have a dimension of 16 inches, and the tires have certain off-road performance and quite high.

12. The steering wheel is multifunctional. The steering column of XRAY has adjusted steering wheel adjustment (unlike the LADA Vesta, where the column is adjustable not only in height, but also on the flight).

13. Approximately 2 million km (in total) have passed tested cars in preparation for production. On average, every test car passed about 20 thousand Km.

14. 50% - is the current level of localization of XRAY, AvtoVAZ plans to increase it to 70%.

15. Inside XRAY there are many places to store small things: the glovebox, in the door - big roomy pockets with cup holders, under the center console – there are two niches plus two places for "coffee", under the passenger seat - a retractable box.
