Wood Group expands automation business in Asian markets
With this entry into the Asia Pacific markets, Wood Group Mustang’s Automation and Control business will focus on projects in the energy (offshore and onshore production, petrochemical, chemical, and refining), power and manufacturing industries. Services will include specialty automation consulting, control and instrument modernizations, greenfield main automation contractor projects, and electrical upgrades.

The Kuala Lumpur team is being led by Harry Bennett and Rahul Gupta, who recently joined the Wood Group Mustang team and bring a wealth of experience in automation and consulting services to their new positions.
Automation & Control Manager Harry Bennett brings more than 30 years of experience in offshore and onshore automation, instrumentation, and telecommunications engineering to his new role. His experience covers all aspects of automation and instrumentation across a range of industries.
Technical Authority – Automation & Control Rahul Gupta is a certified functional safety expert and industrial automation and control systems cyber security specialist for control and safety systems. During his more than 25 years in the oil & gas industry, Rahul has specialized in offshore production platforms and FPSOs, onshore processing refineries, LNG facilities, and chemical plants.
With the establishment of automation capabilities in Kuala Lumpur, Wood Group Mustang’s Automation and Control business unit now supports clients globally from 12 countries. It recently also entered the UK manufacturing automation market, most notably for the automotive industry, with the acquisition of Automated Technology Group in September 2015.
