OREANDA-NEWS. Mostotrest has completed Stage 4 construction of the Northwest Throughway southern segment: «Skolkovskoye Avenue – Moscow Ring Road (MRR). Mozhaiskoye Avenue – MRR, with Exit to Ryabinovaya Street, Including Vyazemskaya Street and Vitebskaya Street (Vyazemskaya Street, Skolkovskoe Avenue, Vitebskaya Street; Section of Setun River Bridge to Ryabinovaya Street)».

The new segment has significantly improved traffic situation on the local road network. Motorists can now easily access Mozhaiskoye Avenue, the MRR and Troyekurovski Proezd from Skolkovskoye Avenue, while traffic throughput capacity of Vyazemskaya, Vitebskaya and Ryabinovaya streets has increased by an average of 25-30 %. In addition, a set of new elevated structures now allows direct access to Ryabinovaya Street and on to Michyurinski Prospect from the road network of Vyazemskaya Street, Vitebskaya Street and Skolkovskoe Avenue, avoiding the MRR.

As part of the project, Mostotrest has built a split-level traffic interchange at the intersection of Skolkovskoye Avenue with Vyazemskaya and Vitebskaya streets. An overpass built as part of the interchange ensures unhindered split-level traffic on Skolkovskoye Avenue, Vitebskaya and Vyazemskaya streets, as well as an exit from Skolkovskoye Avenue (toward Mozhaiskoye Avenue). In addition, Mostotrest has built a bridge across the Setun River and a U-turn flyover after the bridge on the side of Ryabinovaya Street, which excludes the confluence of traffic coming from the new interchange at the intersection of Vyazemskaya Street, Vitebskaya Street and Skolkovskoye Avenue, and from Troyekurovski Proezd. Vitebskaya Street roadway was broadened to accommodate public transport.

The project was implemented under the government contract for Western Moscow transport infrastructure upgrade and construction and, in particular, development of transport links with the Skolkovo Innovation Center. Signed in October 2012 between the Department of Construction of the City of Moscow and Mostotrest, the framework contract envisages phased construction under supplemental agreements.

Mostotrest is a major, diversified infrastructure construction company, with established presence in all core and related market segments, and a participant in Russia’s first public-private partnership projects.
