Tesoro estimates 2018 start for Anacortes MX unit

OREANDA-NEWS. December 11, 2015. Tesoro pushed back the possible start of mixed xylenes (MX) exports from its refinery in Anacortes, Washington, to mid-2018 from 2017 in a presentation to investors yesterday.

In October, chief executive Greg Goff said work on the project is going "extremely well" but mentioned Tesoro could face permitting delays for the MX extraction unit and other projects.

If approved by regulators, Tesoro plans to ship the MX to higher-priced markets in Asia.
