Two directors appointed in the EEAS
OREANDA-NEWS. December 11, 2015. Federica Mogherini, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, has appointed Patricia Llombart Cussac as the new Director for Security, Infrastructure, Budget and Information Technology and Dr. Gerhard Conrad as the new Director for the Intelligence and Situation Centre at the European External Action Service (EEAS).
Patricia Llombart Cussac was EEAS Head of Division in charge of selection and recruitment at the Human Resources Department. Previously she served as EEAS Head of Division for Iran, Iraq, Yemen and GCC countries and as Member of Cabinet of the Commissioner responsible for External Relations. From 1993 to 2011 she was an official in the Commission. Patricia Llombart Cussac will take up her function on 16 December 2015.
Gerhard Conrad is currently serving at the German Embassy in London. He has held posts of high responsibility in the German Federal Intelligence Service (BND) and was previously posted to the German Embassies in the Middle East. Gerhard Conrad will take up his function in early 2016.
