OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2015. The Ministry of Information Technology and Communications submits the „Guidelines on STB parameters and digital TV reception modules recommended for use on the territory of the Republic of Moldova”. The document is informative and is submitted as a recommendation on technical parameters of electronic devices needed to receive digital signal, which is intended for both the equipment importing companies and consumers.

The guidelines define the minimum recommended requirements on the technical and operating parameters of the converters of digital terrestrial television signal (STB) and digital reception TVs. For reception of the digital terrestrial television signal, the viewers should have a digital reception TV or a signal converter to be connected between the antenna and analog reception TV.

By following the submitted recommendations, both the importers and users will avoid the procurement of devices that cannot receive the digital terrestrial TV signal on the territory of the Republic of Moldova.

The draft guideline was consulted by the members of the Interinstitutional work group to ensure the efficient implementation of the Program and subsequently complete it on the basis of the received proposals.

The document was drafted in accordance with the Action Plan on the implementation of the Program on transition from analogue terrestrial television to the digital terrestrial, approved by the Government Decision no. 240 of May 8, 2015, and the provisions of the Law on Electronic Communications and Law on Consumer Protection.
