USGC to see 2 Bcf/d gain in gas demand: Boardwalk

OREANDA-NEWS. December 09, 2015. US Gulf coast could see a 2 Bcf/d (57mn m3/d) increase in industrial demand for natural gas by 2020 due to new gas-fired generation and demand from expanded petrochemical capacity in the region, Boardwalk Pipeline Partners noted in a presentation today to the 2015 Wells Fargo Energy Symposium.

However, the midstream operator expects much of overall US demand growth to stem from LNG export facilities under construction on the Gulf coast; Boardwalk expects to deliver up to 1.7 Bcf/d for LNG export.

Boardwalk forecasts US natural gas production to grow by 23 Bcf/d by 2020. Boardwalk owns and operates about 14,625 miles (25,357km) of NGL and natural gas pipelines and has the capacity to store 208 Bcf of natural gas and 18mn bl of NGLs.
