OREANDA-NEWS. December 07, 2015.  The Government hopes that the law of Ukraine on the State Investigation Bureau as a new independent body, which deprives the Prosecutor’s General Office of investigation functions, will be signed as soon as possible. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk after the signing ceremony of the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of Japan as to providing Ukraine with a loan for the development in order to implement economic reforms.

"The Government respects the independence of prosecutors and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, as these bodies are being formed and are appointed not by the Government, but the President and the Parliament," he stressed.

In his turn, Arseniy Yatsenyuk has noted that the Government is doing its utmost to "deregulate the Ukrainian economy, reduce the impact of power on economic processes, and thus to combat corruption".

The Government hopes that the law of Ukraine on the State Investigation Bureau as a new independent body, which deprives the Prosecutor’s General Office of investigation functions, will be signed as soon as possible. "We are confident that the Government will be able to ensure funding of the independent State Bureau of Investigation as well as the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and all other anti-corruption bodies that are independent of the executive authorities," Arseniy Yatsenyuk underlined.
