OREANDA-NEWS. December 04, 2015. Ford’s innovative technologies were showcased to customers at the 17th Puerto Rico International Auto Show, along with some vehicles that made their island debut this year and perennial favorites, such as the Mustang GT. “Ford customers expect our vehicles to have innovative technology that makes a more comfortable, safe and enjoyable driving experience possible,” says Pablo Haase, regional director, Ford Caribbean and Central America.

“People testing these technologies for the first time are surprised, and those who drive a Ford that includes it do not want to go back.” The feature attracting the most attention from showgoers and the local media was SYNC 3, which was showcased on the 2016 Ford Escape. Also of particular interest to auto show visitors was Ford’s available split-view camera, which helps drivers see around corners, active park assist and hands-free tailgate. The auto show was the first opportunity many island residents have had to view the latest Ford vehicles up close, including the new 2016 Ford Explorer, which arrived in Puerto Rico in September, and the 2015 Ford Edge and F-150, both of which made their island debuts this year. The Ford display was in the central atrium of the Plaza Las Americas mall. More than 1 million people were expected to visit the Puerto Rico International Auto Show during its two-week run, which concluded Nov. 1.
