“Canadian consumers are poised to make Ford their favourite brand for the seventh consecutive year,” said Dianne Craig, president and CEO, Ford of Canada. “From our full lineup of cars, to our unstoppable SUVs, to the toughest trucks in the industry, Canadians continue to purchase Ford more than any other automotive brand, and we could not be more proud.”
Car sales were up two per cent in November, with Ford C-MAX up 62 per cent, Ford Focus up 19 per cent and Ford Mustang up 77 per cent. Mustang remains Canada’s iconic sports car with November marking the ninth month in a row that sales have increased.
Canada’s favourite small SUV, the Ford Escape, experienced its best November on record as sales increased 11 per cent, while the new Ford Explorer enjoyed its sixth consecutive month of growth as sales rose 108 per cent.
Commercial consumers also made November a strong month for van sales, with Ford E-Series, Ford Transit Van, and Ford Transit Connect up nine per cent, 352 per cent and two per cent respectively.
Lincoln luxury brand sales grew five per cent for the second consecutive month, with the Canadian-built Lincoln MKX leading the way, up 62 per cent.
“The reinvention of Lincoln has wowed Canadian consumers,” said Craig. “With sales up 15 per cent this year, customers have truly embraced the quiet luxury offered across the new Lincoln lineup.”
