The Spanish Stock Market traded €894.5 bn. to November, up 11.4% year on year
MONTHLY TRADING STATEMENTS FOR BME MARKETS
- The equity trading volume in November reached €70.1 billion
- Trading volume in ETFs to November increased 31.1% to €11.7 billion
- The trading volume in the Warrants and Certificates market in the first eleven months was up 39%
- Trading volume in IBEX 35 Futures to November was up 7% year on year
- New issues on the Corporate Debt market in November were up 61,1%, at €7.7 billion
Equities
The equity trading on the Spanish Stock Market in the first eleven months of the year totaled €894.5 billion, up 11.4% higher than in the same period a year earlier. The trading volume in November was €70.1 billion, down 25.4% from November 2014.
The number of trades to the end of November reached 57.4 million, down 11.6% from the same month in 2014. In November the number of trades reached 4.3 million, down 31.4% from the same month a year earlier.
As for the ETF segment, the trading volume in the first eleven months of the year totalled €11.7 billion, up 31.1% from the same period a year earlier. The trading volume recorded in November in this segment came in at €832 million, down 1.8% year on year.
The number of ETF trades in the first eleven months of the year totaled 58,824 up 54.7% from those registered in the first eleven months of 2014. The number of trades in November reached 11,718, down 20.8% from the same month a year earlier.
The trading volume on the Warrants and Certificates market in the first eleven months of the year reached €1 billion, up 39% year-on-year. The trading volume in this market in November reached €70.5 million, up 33.4% from November 2014.
Futures and Options
The total trading volume in the Derivatives market to November reached 41 million contracts, down 18% from a year earlier.
Despite the lower activity levels seen in November, trading in Index Futures increased in the first eleven months, with 559,990 IBEX 35 Futures and 214,622 IBEX Mini Futures traded, up 7% and 6% respectively year-on-year. To the end of November, the open interest on IBEX 35 Futures was up 6%.
In November trading in Index Options decreased from the previous month, with 271,327 contracts traded, down 3.3%. Trading in Stock Derivatives to the end of November was down 23.3% year-on-year while the open interest decreased 1.2%, in line with the levels reached at the end of November. Lastly, Futures on Stock Dividends keep growing and to the end of November they increased 40.5% while the open interest was up 50% during the same period.
Fixed Income
The total of new issues traded on Corporate Debt in November reached €7.7 billion, up 61.1% from a year earlier. In the period from January to November the volume of new issues reached €131.3 billion, up 52.4% from the same period a year earlier.
The trading volume in this market in November came in at €28.2 billion, while in the first eleven months of the year it was down 34% year-on-year, at €488.7 billion.
The trading volume on the SEND electronic platform in November came in at €92.4 million , up 19.1% year on year.
In November Public Debt trading on Senaf came in at €14.7 billion, which is double the figure for the same period a year earlier. To the end of November Public Debt trading reached €99.1 billion.\
