OREANDA-NEWS. December 01, 2015. Ministry of Information Technology and Communications held its second meeting of the Inter-institutional working group to ensure efficient implementation of the Programme on the transition to the digital terrestrial television.

During the meeting there were presented the results achieved in the process of the Programme implementation and discussed the possibilities of realisation of the information campaign for citizens on benefits of digital TV signal. Also, the participants to the meeting analysed the aspects regarding the organization of the tender for issuing the broadcasting licences and retransmission authorizations for capacity usage of the created national multiplex, the organisation of the tender for the issuance of licenses for the frequencies/TV channels use for the creation of multiplexes with regional coverage, as well as possibilities of receiving digital terrestrial TV signal using “collective antennas”.

During the discussions, the MITC representatives informed about the development of “Guide on STB parameters and TV digital reception modules, recommended for use on the territory of the Republic of Moldova”, which is on its final drafting stage.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications, Broadcasting Coordinating Council, National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Protection, Ministry of Finance, Competition Council, Executive Committee of Gagauzia, “Teleradio-Moldova” IPNA company and company “Extindere”.

It should be mentioned that the Republic of Moldova has undertaken the obligation of transition to the digital terrestrial television by signing the Regional Agreement for planning of the digital terrestrial broadcasting service “Geneva-2006”. According to the amendments to the Broadcasting Code approved by the Parliament, the transition from analogue to digital terrestrial television will be completed by the end of 2017.
