Deutsche Post DHL Group once again raises the number of training positions in Germany
OREANDA-NEWS. Deutsche Post DHL Group will be offering 2,458 new training positions and academic courses of study in the coming year. That is 83 more positions than in the prior year. Young people can apply for a total of 18 training positions and 12 courses of study at the company. The goal is to take on every suitable graduate in a permanent employment relationship once their training has been completed.
"The subject of training is one that is very close to my heart," says Melanie Kreis, Board Member for Personnel at Deutsche Post DHL Group. "In our business people play a crucial role in our long-term success. That is why we are always looking for motivated young professionals. It is our employees with their effort, dedication and qualifications that ultimately distinguish us from the competition."
The majority of training positions offered by Deutsche Post DHL Group are found in the Post - eCommerce - Parcel division (PeP). Here, 2,002 training positions will be created next year, primarily dedicated to turning young people into courier, express and postal service specialists. The division has a wide range of services, from mail items and parcels, through merchandise shipments, all the way to special services such as cash on delivery, registered mail and insured items. It also employs some 183,000 people. "In the highly competitive postal and parcel industry, where almost no one gets training, we are the ones who offer young people real professional prospects," says J?rgen Gerdes, Management Board Member for Post - eCommerce - Parcel.
Moreover, the Group trains people as mechatronics technicians, warehouse logistics experts, specialists in freight forwarding and logistics services or office management. In addition to traditional training opportunities, Deutsche Post DHL Group also offers the prospect of starting an integrated degree program (Duales Studium). Here, the practical and theoretical phases alternate four times a year and students receive not just a bachelor's degree but also genuine hands-on business experience. In the coming year, 162 of these academic courses of study will be offered.
The company gives special attention to the most outstanding trainees and students by admitting them to the Top-Azubi talent program. There they have the opportunity to qualify for interesting assignments at Deutsche Post DHL Group by taking part in special seminars and on-the-job training.
The application phase for a training position or study program has already begun. As a rule, participants are trained close to where they live, whether that is a major city like Frankfurt, Hamburg or Munich, or a rural region. Students from any course of study can apply, as long as they bring with them qualifications like dedication, curiosity, a customer service orientation and reliability.
