OREANDA-NEWS. Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), one of the leading employers in Bahrain, has appointed Mohammed Khalid as the Manager - Customer Services & Marketing Operations. In his new role, Mohammed will be overseeing customer service operations and marketing activities such as metal production planning, logistics, billing & documentation, pricing and market research.

Commenting on Mohammed’s appointment, Alba’s Chief Executive Officer Tim Murray said: “Alba takes great pride in promoting from within the Company and empowering nationals with higher education and work skills, which prepare them for greater responsibilities. Mohammed is an example of our commitment to empower Bahraini nationals and take up leadership opportunities to drive the future success of the Company.”

Mohammed joined Alba’s Marketing Department in June 2011 as Sales Officer – GCC, ME & Africa and in 2013, he was promoted to Head of Sales GCC, ME & Africa. Since January 2015, Mohammed was the Acting Manager for Customer Services & Marketing Operations.

Mohammed has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Economics and Finance (BSBA) from the American University of Sharjah (AUS), United Arab Emirates and an MBA from Depaul University, Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.

About Line 6 Expansion Project:

Line 6 Expansion Project, expected to begin production by early 2019, will boost the per-annum production by 514,000 metric tonnes, bringing the total production capacity of Alba to around 1.450 million metric tonnes per year. Bechtel Canada completed the Bankable Feasibility study for the $3.5 billion Line 6 Expansion Project in December 2014. DX+ Technology is selected as the base for Line 6, while J.P. Morgan, Gulf International Bank (GIB) and National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) are the Financial Advisors of the Project. The Line 6 Expansion Project will enhance the downstream industry by creating many co-investment opportunities through local and foreign aluminium investments. It will create hundreds of jobs, directly and indirectly, which will be a significant economic boost for the Kingdom of Bahrain.
