Sea-3 adding rail delivery to Tampa terminal
OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2015. Port Tampa Bay commissioners approved Sea-3's application to build a rail facility on its 12.4-acre site to take up to 14 railcars per day of propane for resale to Florida retailers.
Construction of the facility will begin in 2016. Sea-3, a subsidiary of Trammo, imports and exports waterborne propane at the Tampa Bay terminal. Given the surge in domestic propane production, delivered railcars will allow Trammo to source material more cheaply.
"Sea-3 is expected to move 2mn bl of LPG annually and will likely increase its expansion to include a rail extension to enhance its operational flow in the future," according to the commission.
The amended lease includes three extension options of 10 years each.
