OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2015. Nathan Associates Consulting Company from USA positively commends the initiatives of the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications concerning the development of the ICT sector, including the creation of the virtual IT parks. The opinion was expressed during the meeting of the Deputy Minister of ICT Vitalie Tarlev and Managing Director of the Company Mark Walter.

During the discussions there were presented the documents of public policies developed and promoted by the MITC, including the National Strategy “Digital Moldova 2020” and the Strategy of the information technology competitiveness growth for the years 2015 – 2021. Special attention was paid to the Draft Law on the IT industry parks, which sets simple, clear and transparent rules of business management and tax collection. The draft was developed by the Ministry and promoted at the government level being adopted in first reading by the Parliament on July 31st, 2015.

In his turn, Mark Walter praised the approach of the authors of the Draft Law as an extremely innovative, and he is convinced that once established the virtual parks shall become attractive for the companies in the field and shall influence positively the economy of the Republic of Moldova.

At the same time the discussions were focused on another priority direction of the Strategy of IT industry competitiveness growth – training of the ICT sector highly qualified specialists and offering them the possibility to develop their practical skills even after graduation of faculties, in the laboratories of the Centre of Excellence in the ICT field, initiative recently launched with the support of the American and Swedish agencies for international development – USAID and SIDA.
