OREANDA-NEWS. November 20, 2015. Duo Security, a cloud-based access security provider protecting the world's largest and fastest-growing companies, today announces that nominations are open for its Women in Security Awards 2016. Duo is sponsoring this award to recognize the contributions that women are making to inspire a new generation to transform the security industry. Nominations are open to the public and winners will be announced at the RSA Conference in San Francisco, CA on March 2, 2016.

Duo is seeking nominations of women who have made significant contributions to the fields of information security and privacy. There are two separate opportunities -- an academic award, for full-time students or staff members in an academic institution, and an industry award, for professionals in the security industry.

Nominees should have exceptional knowledge and leadership in technical, academic, or commercial domains. They should also demonstrate a passion for sharing knowledge, providing mentorship, and encouraging community and the empowerment of women in the security industry.

Candidates will be narrowed to a pool of finalists by judges who are experts in the security industry. Winners will receive registration and travel accommodations for the RSA Conference, a speaking or panelist opportunity at the Duo Security Summit 2016, and a \\$2,500 stipend. Past winners include Parisa Tabriz, Chrome Security Manager at Google, and Rachel Sitarz, Graduate Assistant at Purdue University.
