Yatsenyuk appealed to parliamentary factions to hold meetings with Government and IMF mission to tackle economic policy for 2016
OREANDA-NEWS. November 20, 2015. "The Government is ready to work with all factions, with certain MPs of Ukraine in order to elaborate one single package of laws and vote on it in the Parliament without delay, demonstrating the political will to implement economic reforms," stressed Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk at a Government meeting.
He reminded that a mission of the International Monetary Fund had arrived to Ukraine: "Throughout several days we have been working with the mission".
Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted that all political forces of the coalition "have an opportunity to meet with our colleagues from the International Monetary Fund to find out what main parameters of the following budget year are determined by the Government of Ukraine together with our international partners."
It should be noted, the Head of the Government emphasized, there took place a three-hour meeting of members of the IMF mission and the leader of the Batkivshchyna faction in the presence of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine regarding budgetary, tariff and economic policies in general.
"I appeal to the parliamentary factions, who are eager to take an active part in the formation of the state budget for the next year and amendments in tax, customs and economic policy as a whole for 2016, to take a decision for themselves whether to hold meetings with the IMF mission. Both the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance are ready to work together with our political partners to conduct such a meeting, with numbers, facts and determining of the distinct policy, which is necessary for the Ukrainian state in 2016", said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
The Prime Minister stressed that before the end of year there should be adopted a new law of Ukraine on the state budget for 2016 and changes in tax and customs policy designed by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and supported by the Government.
In addition, it is necessary to adopt in Parliament a number of other bills drafted by the Government. Among them – changes to the legislation in health, in education, privatization, public procurement".
"We need common political will to prove that Ukraine isn’t going off the track of crucial reforms for the country. And to demonstrate to the international community that we are confident in pursuing the way of reforms," he said.
The Prime Minister emphasized to achieve success in the reform process it is vital to ensure unity of all factions of the coalition: "The voting process in Parliament should be smooth to prevent transforming the budget and tax issues in a political confrontation".
