Enterprise LPG terminal 90pc contracted
Once the expansion is finished by the end of December, Enterprise will operate the world's largest LPG export terminal, capable of loading at a rate of 27,000 bl per hour equating to roughly 29 VLGC loadings per month.
"The majority of the capacity is under contract as far out as 2022," said chief operating officer Jim Teague.
Enterprise did not name any terminal customers, but Enterprise executives previously stated more than half of exports from the facility are headed to Latin America, with Asia deliveries accounting for another third of volumes.
Enterprise is competing with new capacity at Targa's nearby terminal in Galena Park, Texas, and a new expansion from the Marcus Hook export facility in the northeastern US. Market participants said despite lower spot prices seen during October in the secondary spot market for cargoes, it is possible customers will still see double-digit terminal fees.
The US exported 680,000 b/d of propane the week ended 6 November, according to the latest available data from the US Energy Information Administration.
