Uralkali awards individual scholarships to PNRPU students
OREANDA-NEWS. Uralkali has awarded scholarships to the ten best students from the Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNRPU). The official ceremony for awarding the certificates was held as part of the closing session of the All-Russian academic competitions at the 4th All-Russian “Oil and Gas and Mining Industries” youth forum. The scholarship holders study at PNRPU’s oil and gas and chemical engineering departments. Two students, among those who have received certificates, are studying under the intended purpose of the Company.
Ruslan Iliasov, HR director of PJSC Uralkali noted:
“Uralkali is a leader in the world’s potash industry and its development is impossible without qualified specialists. We are interested in hiring professionals, and therefore we actively promote scholarship programmes in higher and secondary educational institutions and assist with upgrades of their facilities and the development of teaching staff.”
In addition, in October this year, Uralkali awarded scholarships to 34 of the best students at the Berezniki Polytechnic and Solikamsk Mining and Chemical colleges based on the results of 2014-2015 academic year.

Uralkali has paid Individual scholarships to students of higher educational institutions since 2006 as a part of a cooperation agreement between the Company and PNRPU and the Berezniki Branch of the university. The main criteria for candidates’ selection are high academic achievements, research in the area of Uralkali’s activity, successful completion of an internship and interest in the profession. The Company also assists in the improvement of facilities and equipment, allocates money for research grants for teachers and the organisation of educational and research laboratories.
Uralkali also awards individual scholarships to students of the Berezniki Polytechnic and Solikamsk Mining and Chemical colleges. To be eligible for individual scholarships from the Company, students must have good grades and take an active part in applied research projects as well as in social activities of the school. Apart from awarding individual scholarships, Uralkali assists in the improvement of facilities and equipment of these institutions. As such, the Company bought equipment for 12 classrooms. Since 2011, Uralkali invested approximately RUB 15 million to support secondary education in Berezniki and Solikamsk.
Uralkali is one of the world’s largest potash producers and exporters. The Company’s assets consist of 5 mines and 7 ore-treatment mills situated in the towns of Berezniki and Solikamsk (Perm Region, Russia). Uralkali employs ca.11,000 people (in the main production unit). Uralkali’s shares and GDRs are traded on the Moscow Exchange and London Stock Exchange, respectively.
