OREANDA-NEWS. Automotive market in Russia, which in September was the fourth largest in Europe, at the end of the last month it dropped to fifth place among the European countries. 

According to data received by the agency "AUTOSTAT" in the national association of car manufacturers in Europe, the leader by car sales in October was again Germany, where it was sold 278,372 cars (+ 1.1%). According to the German Association of Automotive Industry (VDA), despite a slight increase, it is the best result in October for the last 10 years. In the second place we can UK with 177,664 sold vehicles (-1.1%). According to the British Society of Motor Manufacturers and dealers (SMMT), the negative result is recorded for the first time after more than 3.5 years of continuous sales growth, which, however, testifies that demand stabilized at a high level. Third place is occupied by France, whose dealers have sold 161 030 vehicles (+ 0.6%). The fourth result was shown by Italy - 132,929 sold vehicles (+ 8.6%). According to the Italian Association of Automobile Manufacturers (ANFIA), the country's auto market continues to show a positive trend, although for the last nine months it was the double-digit growth. If, however, we take into account Russia when we are considering the car market in Europe, then our country has fallen to fifth place of the European ranking. According to preliminary estimates of the agency "AUTOSTAT", sales of passenger cars in the last month were approximately 120 thousand units (excluding LCV).
