OREANDA-NEWS.  Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Takehiko Nakao sent condolences to France after a series of attacks on Paris that left more than 120 dead and 200 injured on Friday night.

“We are deeply saddened to hear the news of lives lost in the attacks in Paris,” Mr. Nakao said in a letter to the French President, Francois Hollande. “On behalf of the Asian Development Bank, I wish to express our profound sympathies and condolences to you, the government, the people of France, and the affected families.”

ADB, based in Manila, is dedicated to reducing poverty in Asia and the Pacific through inclusive economic growth, environmentally sustainable growth, and regional integration. Established in 1966, it is owned by 67 members – 48 from the region.  In 2014, ADB assistance totaled $22.9 billion, including cofinancing of $9.2 billion.
