OREANDA-NEWS. November 16, 2015. The popular Nissan Versa Note hatchback is taking versatility to new heights at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show (LAAS). Announced today, Nissan will debut an expansion of the innovative Nissan Color Studio to include the 2016 Versa Note hatchback. The creative juices will not stop there, however – in the days leading up to the show, Nissan will take it a step further with the Street Art Battle.

Inspired by Color Studio, a trio of specially wrapped Versa Notes will serve as canvases for Nissan's LAAS Street Art Battle on November 17 to 18, a live event pairing the creativity of three local street artists with the innovation of Nissan. The Versa Note Color Studio, which offers a bold new way for Versa Note owners to "make it yours" through an a la carte selection of 13 exterior and interior accent accessories, will also be on display for the first time during the battle.

Fans can follow this unique event featuring three of Los Angeles' most talented street artists via the Nissan Twitter handle, @NissanUSA.

"Now in its third year of production, Versa Note continues to impress with a combination of versatility, style, fuel economy and long list of available safety and security features, as well as one of the roomiest interiors in the segment," said Dan Mohnke, vice president, Sales & Marketing Operations, U.S. "The Street Art Battle is a great way to preview the Versa Note Color Studio, which will make its official debut during the LA Auto Show. Even more, it's a fantastic way for Nissan to connect with the local art scene in Los Angeles – a group of people that appreciates creativity and innovation much like Nissan does."

The three street artists – Annie Preece (@foureyedannie), Jaime Reyes (@vyalone) and Sebastien Walker (@sebastienwalker) – will be challenged to garner inspiration from the innovative Versa Note to create a painting that follows one of two themes: "Pursuit of Happiness" or "Color Changes Everything."  Award-winning artist and entertainer Justin Bua (@JustinBUA) will host the event, providing live commentary and interviews throughout.

"The LA Auto Show is a great venue for these artists to showcase their skills by turning a Nissan Versa into their canvas, and I'm thrilled to be a part of it," said Bua.

Day 1 will run Tuesday, November 17, during the Press & Trade Days Kick-off Party, from 5 to 8 p.m. PST at the Gilbert Lindsay Plaza, located just outside of the Los Angeles Convention Center. Artists will continue painting at the same site the following morning, Wednesday, November 18, from 7 to 8:30 a.m.

After Preece, Reyes and Walker are formally introduced to the media during Nissan's 9:30 a.m. press conference, the Street Art Battle will continue before concluding later in the afternoon. Upon completion, all three artists' creations will be on display at the show through November 29.

"This is yet another great example of how innovation is at the heart of Nissan's philosophy," added Mohnke. "The Street Art Battle and the Versa Note Color Studio will spotlight Versa Note in a unique way never seen before."
