OREANDA-NEWS. November 16, 2015. Earlier this year, Delta Artist Spotlight, the airline’s in-flight music discovery platform for emerging artists, featured now-critically acclaimed R&B singer Leon Bridges.

Wednesday night, a select group of customers heard him perform live, when he serenaded more than 1,000 SkyMiles Credit Card Members and guests at a private concert hosted by Delta and American Express at the Ace Theatre in Los Angeles. Also joining in the fun were three lucky social media contest winners, who were flown to L.A. to stay at the Ace Hotel, attend the concert and meet Bridges. The contest yielded thousands of customer entries from across the country, promoting the #DeltaAmexPerks program in their own social media accounts.

Card Members had exclusive access to purchase tickets for the event, which was intended to thank them for their loyalty in the air as well as on the ground and reflected the branded, thoughtful experience customers have when they fly on Delta. Pilots, flight attendants and Frontline Involvement Team members hosted Card Members and represented Delta people.

The event and others like it are designed to reward Delta’s most loyal customers while showcasing the benefits of being a Card Member. The SkyMiles team has hosted Card Member events in several other cities throughout the year, including a private concert by John Legend at the Delta Flight Museum in Atlanta in January and a Shake Shack takeover in New York City during the summer.

Amex is Delta’s largest commercial partner, and Delta is a top global merchant for Amex. Last year, the companies announced a multi-year extension of their commercial partnership.
