OREANDA-NEWS. Teradata Corp., the big data analytics and marketing applications company, has honored Cognizant and Orbitz Worldwide LLC with a 2015 Teradata EPIC Award for their outstanding and innovative use of data and analytics technology to generate business value and drive excellence.

The award was presented at a ceremony held at the Teradata PARTNERS Conference and Expo in Anaheim, California.

The independent judging panel included a cross-section of industry innovators, chief information officers, marketing specialists, technologists, educators, and technology journalists.

Cognizant and Orbitz were honored in the ‘Integrated View of the Business’ category, which recognizes “solutions that break down silos to deliver insights by connecting disparate systems, data sources and/or data structures across an organization.”

According to Teradata, “These implementations deliver an integrated view of the business that results in true business intelligence, new business opportunities, and performance improvements, and they allow for the reuse of data.”

Cognizant and Orbitz won the award for Orbitz Teradata Migration, a reengineering project that has helped Orbitz leverage the power of Teradata for establishing a stable system that provides single version of truth and holistic view for the enterprise, enabling next-generation business intelligence (BI) capabilities, minimizing data consolidation windows to enable the users to look at the most recent data and trend for analytics, and bringing optimizations in process and performance to scale up for an enterprise level deployment.
