Lockheed Martin Simulator Ready for Training by Frontier Airlines Pilots
OREANDA-NEWS. Frontier Airlines pilots can now jump into the cockpit of a Lockheed Martin Commercial Flight Training A320 simulator to prepare for flight across the United States. The simulator was recently certified as “Ready for Training” by the Federal Aviation Administration.
“Our customers expect strong performance from our solutions, and we’re proud to deliver this additional capability to Frontier Airlines,” said Sandy Samuel, vice president and general manager of Lockheed Martin Commercial Flight Training (LMCFT).
The simulator was shipped to Frontier Airlines in Denver, Colorado earlier this year as part of an expedited delivery process to support their training needs. It was delivered to the A320 1.8 standard to maintain concurrency with the aircraft.
"As we continue to bring new aircraft into our fleet, we'll need to train more crew members," said Jimmy Nides, vice president of flight operations, Frontier Airlines. "Lockheed Martin has been a good partner in helping us meet our training needs."
LMCFT offers a complete suite of commercial aviation training products and services including Airbus A320, A330 and A340 and Boeing 737, 767, 777 and 787 full flight simulators. LMCFT has celebrated the “Ready for Training” milestone on eight new full flight simulators this year, and completed more than 50 recurrent qualifications on fielded devices. The company also provides training services through its international commercial aviation training centers based in S?o Paulo, Brazil, and Incheon, Korea.
