Fluid Solutions from ContiTech Set New Standards
The Extended Life XR16SC high-pressure hydraulic hose features excellent abrasion resistance, tight bending radii and flexibility. The hose can be used both with oil and with water-based hydraulic fluids. It has outstanding impulse performance, and its flexibility exceeds SAE standards 100R2 and 100R16. The Extended Life XR16SC also has a highly abrasion-resistant hose cover offering abrasion resistance that is more than five times higher than the standard solutions. Its sheer versatility in terms of its range of applications also helps customers minimize their material inventory.
Inner lining prevents sparking
Electrically conductive fuel lines have been fitted as standard in passenger cars for some time. Now this application – not least because of corresponding regulations in the US – is also becoming increasingly attractive for agricultural vehicles. The conductive inner lining made of a rubber adapted for the application prevents static buildup at high throughflow rates which, in the worst-case scenario, could result in sparking and spontaneous ignition of the vehicle.
ContiTech’s highly flexible fuel lines are suitable for gasoline, diesel and biodiesel and can withstand operating temperatures from -40 to +150°C. Another characteristic feature is their low permeation rate, and they also meet the most stringent cleanliness requirements. The outer lining is resistant to radiant heat up to 150°C, and briefly even 175°C.
High-temperature lines for hot, tight package spaces
ContiTech’s high-temperature lines are used wherever oil and fuels have to be conveyed. The company has re-engineered these hoses, which have been tried-and-tested components for decades, incorporating the latest in materials technology. The latest development is FKM-based hoses for oil and fuels which dispense with a stainless steel braid and are therefore both more flexible and cheaper than the previous high-temperature hoses. At a pressure of 15 bar they withstand continuous temperatures of up to 230°C, with transient peaks of 250°C.
This high-temperature resistance is becoming necessary because of the growing trend towards enclosed units, higher engine outputs and the increasing use of turbochargers. As a result, the ambient temperatures to which the hoses and lines are exposed are rising. These latest adaptations mean that ContiTech’s hoses are equipped to cope with these and future requirements. Other benefits of this new development are their very compact design and the capability of forming tight bending radii with these hoses, which are also available as molded hoses.
Rapid conveying of water
The Velocity industrial hose from ContiTech Industrial Fluid Systems is used in agriculture for sucking up and draining water. The new premium PVC high-performance hose is lightweight and flexible. It has a smooth, transparent PVC tubular inner liner to enable water to be conveyed rapidly and a strong spiral sheath which protects against kinking. The transparent tubular inner liner enables the media flow to be monitored at all times. The Velocity is temperature-resistant from -25 to 60?C. It also offers outstanding abrasion resistance and is UV-resistant.
